FORMAT
The format for the PNQ 2006 will be 2/3 games per match, rally scoring, win by two, with no cap. Undeciding games will be played to 25, and deciding games will be played to 15.
Pool play will begin at 8:00 a.m. Friday, March 24. This tournament is one of USA Volleyball's National Qualifiing Tournaments and is governed by the rules set forth by them. (You can download the Qualifier Manual below.) It is a mandated 3-day tournament with teams starting play on Friday morning. If your team cannot play all three days, then do not enter this tournament. Teams will be placed in a morning or afternoon wave for two days of pool play with all teams advancing to single-elimination playoffs on the third day. Since we cannot determine where a team will finish or how late a team will finish on Sunday (the last match is usually "scheduled" for 2 p.m.), teams should plan to not travel until the evening, especially those teams traveling by plane.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
Use www.SignUpToPlay.com. Entry deadline is February 24, 2006. No refunds will be given after this date!
IMPACT CERTIFICATION & REFEREE/SCOREKEEPER CERTIFICATION
ALL coaches must be IMPACT certified in order for the team to be able to participate in this or any other National Qualifier. An IMPACT clinic is scheduled for Thursday, March 23 at 7 p.m.(this has been changed from 6 pm to allow for late flight arrivals) at the DoubleTree Hotel, for coaches who need to fulfill this requirement. If you need to register for this clinic, please e-mail April at the office. If a team does not have a coach who is IMPACT certified, the team will be disqualified. Pre-registration is REQUIRED.
A referee/scorekeeping clinic is also scheduled for Thursday, March 23 from 7-9 p.m at the DoubleTree Hotel. Pre-registration is REQUIRED through the region office. All teams MUST provide a certified scorekeeper and R2 (down official), and two linespersons for each match that they officiate. A reminder: during a team's officiating duties, a coach listed on their roster MUST BE COURTSIDE during the entire match. To register for this clinic, e-mail April.
CHECK-IN
All teams are required to check-in. Failure to do so may disqualify your team from the tournament. Teams will be able to check in between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 23. Teams arriving later than 9:00 p.m. should notify the registrar PRIOR to March 19, 2006 so arrangements can be made for you to pick up your packet Friday morning. All coaches should be carrying a copy of their team's roster (with all USAV #'s) and medical release forms for ALL players. Coaches will be asked for these items upon checking in, so please have all items available. Coaches will also need to verify and sign the roster that was submitted and verify referee/scorekeeper certification for their players. If a club director/assistant coach is checking in for a team, he/she MUST have these items. Check-in will be done by age-division. There will be a coaches' meeting at 9:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23 at the DoubleTree Hotel.
**NO ROSTER CHANGES MAY BE MADE ONCE A TEAM HAS COMMENCED MATCH PLAY!**
